How does ear candling at Melbourne Natural Wellness work? Practitioner-only (30 cm) length hollow candles are inserted through a hole in a small cone specially designed to fit comfortably in the ear. The ear wax removal candle is lit at the opposite end. This creates a low-level vacuum that draws ear wax and other debris out of the ear and into the hollow candle. After the ear candle treatment, a dark, waxy substance may be found as the therapist empties the ear wax candle contents onto a tissue for you to see. Many people find candle waxing the ears to be a satisfying procedure, as they can visually see all the excess wax they were carrying around. Ear candling is also very beneficial for sinus congestion and many people say they can hear and breathe more easily after a treatment. You should not feel any pain from the treatment − just a hissing noise and a warm feeling in your ear.
