What does one do when needing a question answered? Ask Guru Google of course… Or Mr Wiki in this case…So the question I am asking here is What is Wellness? Here is what Wiki thinks wellness is….
Wellness is generally used to mean a healthy balance of the mind, body and spirit that results in an overall feeling of well-being. It has been used in the context of alternative medicine since Halbert L. Dunn, M.D., began using the phrase high level wellness in the 1950s. The modern concept of wellness did not, however, become popular until the 1970s.
The term has been defined by the Wisconsin-based National Wellness Institute as an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more successful existence.  This is consistent with a shift in focus away from illness in viewing human health, typical of contexts where the term wellness is used.
In other words, wellness is a view of health that emphasizes the state of the entire being and its ongoing development. So I guess they are talking about our ‘normal state’ should be wellness – working on ourselves all the time, to not only prevent illness so we are ‘healthy’ but to go one step further and both prevent illness, where possible, and actively work on our health, fitness and mindset all the time not wait to get sick then try do something about it.

Of course we can’t be everything to everybody all the time and we are all going to feel happy and sad, up and down. The phrase can also be seen as an analogue to the medical term “homeostasis”
Wellness can also be described as “the constant, conscious pursuit of living life to its fullest potential” Are you investing in your wellness? Putting the greatest amount into your wellness so you get the biggest return?
I wanted this ‘what is wellness’ question answered, so why did I look for the answer on wiki and not inside myself? I mean I live breathe, love and work in wellness!
Why is it that we are making decisions – which is making a choice then justifying it or changing our minds depending on what others think?
If it takes 28 days to make a habit, 28 days to break a habit, 28 days to form a habit and 28 days to make a habit a habit – Next time you are in that habit of making a decision, make a choice and in just 4 quick 28 day cycles, you are now in charge of your own life J
